Welcome to the VALA website |
|
VALA - Libraries, Technology and the Future Inc., aims to
promote the use and understanding of information technology as it applies
to practitioners in the library and information dissemination industries.
Regular meetings promote the exchange of information about the planning, analysis, implementation, operation and maintenance of telecommunications in library services and information management. If you miss a meeting, then look at the Notice of Meeting - the PowerPoint presentations are often available: follow the link to the particular meeting from the General Meetings page. Anyone working in the information industry is welcome to join us. VALA2008 is over, with a sold-out exhibition and hundreds of delegates. Copies of papers can be obtained from the Conference Home Page. A record number of people came to the Conference Dinner, where they wined, dined and danced - and found out who won VALA's most prestigious information technology award, the Robert D. Williamson Award. Conference papers from VALA2006, VALA2004 and VALA2002 are also still available for downloading - see Previous VALA Conferences. You can also purchase copies of the proceedings from this and other previous conferences - click here for details. |
