Welcome to Melbourne

On behalf of the City of Melbourne, I welcome all delegates taking part in the VALA Libraries, Technology and the Future Tech Camp 2019. VALA plays a leading role in bringing together those keen to explore technology trends in libraries, galleries, archives and museums. The networking opportunities encourage collaboration for the benefit of our knowledge sector as a whole.

Participants will have the chance to share ideas over two days in this intensive, hands-on learning program. This is an excellent opportunity for the tech-savvy and the tech-challenged to work together to gain practical coding skills.

The City of Melbourne is proud to sponsor this event. As a knowledge city, Melbourne harnesses the collective power of minds and skills to drive our prosperity. We support adult education, research and innovation and foster a culture of lifelong learning.

As you gather in our city, I invite to explore our parks and gardens, heritage architecture, theatres and concert halls as well as our fine dining restaurants, bars and enchanting laneways.
