Topic: “23 Mobile Things with Jan Holmquist”
Jan Holmquist is the quintessential global librarian, at home wherever he lays his hat including his native Denmark, Germany, the USA, the UK or – his personal favourite – Australia (we made that up, to entice him to come more often). As his super-Tardis is touching down in Melbourne in early June, Jan has generously agreed to spend an evening with “his people” – the tech savvy, forward-thinking and highly mobile VALA community.

“23 Mobile Things” is the focus of Jan’s conversation with us, but he will also discuss leadership, learning as a library strategy and transforming global inspiration into local action.
Please join Jan, the VALA Committee, members and guests for this very special VALA Guest Speaker Event, at the unusual time of 5.30pm, Friday 5 June 2015; yes, it’s the start of the long weekend, but what better way to kick it off than with friends, colleagues, a glass of something chilled (or mulled, if you prefer) and a ground-breaking, inspirational speaker.
In a further departure from the norm, we will gather in the Back Room at Loop, 23 Meyers Place, Melbourne – a very contemporary venue for a very contemporary Librarian. Fine food and drinks available at bar prices; why not stay on and make a night of it.
