VALA2022 Venue – Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre

Conferences Are Back!

Victoria is back in business!  After a challenging 18 months of COVID related lockdowns and restrictions, Victoria is now back in action and its valued conferencing industry is excited to be able to bring people together once again to meet face to face, safely and effectively.  Recent announcements by the Victorian State Government, aligned with vaccination milestones have enabled venues, organisers and hosts to now plan events with certainty and clarity.

Peter King, CEO of MCEC, said MCEC is excited to open its doors again after such a long break.

“At MCEC we are incredibly proud to be acknowledged as a standout venue for COVID-safety, which means we can start the return of events at MCEC,” he said. “And what better way to kick off our recovery than to welcome back a long term customer in VALA. It’s so good to see familiar faces. These relationships are our lifeblood here at MCEC and it is so exciting to see some of our most valued partners able to fill our building again.”

Kate Smith, Managing Director of WALDRONSMITH Management (WSM), VALA’s long standing professional conference organiser, commented:

We all know the value of coming together face to face at a conference, the knowledge shared and the professional connections made with colleagues and valued sponsors and exhibitors, so it’s terrific to be back in action. The WSM team looks forward to supporting VALA in bringing its community together once again in February at VALA2022 for what will be a truly valuable experience. Planning is well underway with VALA and our colleagues at MCEC to ensure participants enjoy a productive 3 days, safely and effectively. In line with the VALA2022 theme – “Bring IT On”.

Entry to the MCEC

In line with current Victorian Government vaccination requirements, VALA2022 participants (delegates, sponsors, exhibitors) and all staff (MCEC, WSM, VALA) and suppliers must be fully vaccinated to enter the building and demonstrate their vaccination certificate or show exemption status on entry to VALA2022’s event space.  Additionally, participants will be asked to check in using the Victorian Government Services QR code on arrival each day. More information will follow but you can also visit the MCEC website for more details on its Venue safe plan.
