Getting Around

Taxis

A taxi fare from Melbourne Airport to Melbourne CBD is approximately $55-$65.  If you would prefer to pre-book your taxi during your stay in Melbourne, you can call either of the main taxi companies.

Uber

You can request a ride from Uber from either the Domestic or the International terminal of Melbourne Airport. Just request your Uber once you have exited the terminal and your driver will meet you at the pick–up area. For more information on Uber please visit https://www.uber.com/en-AU/airports/

SkyBus

SkyBus offers a shuttle bus service from Tullamarine airport to Melbourne city centre. The Melbourne City Express is currently operating between 4:30am and midnight – average departures every 20-30 minutes, 7 days per week. Tickets can be purchased on arrival or online by visiting the SkyBus website.

Public Transportation

Getting around Melbourne traffic can be challenging for the best of us. Taxis, Uber and a variety of other rideshare options are available but why not try out our public transportation options instead? With trip planning available in Google maps and a Free Tram Zone, its never been easier to give it a go! If you are wanting to travel further, Myki is the ticketing system for trains, trams and buses in metropolitan Melbourne. Tickets must be purchased in advance (not available on board) at www.ptv.vic.gov.au. Interstate and international visitors can purchase a visitor pack at the MCEC Business Centre, PTV Hub at Southern Cross Station and the SkyBus terminals at Melbourne Airport and Southern Cross Station.
