The regular VALA Meeting for March has been replaced by a joint seminar presented by VALA - Libraries, Technology and the Future, in association with the State Library of Victoria and Public Libraries Victoria Network. Location: State Library of Victoria Public libraries around the world are redefining their roles and reinventing themselves in order to ensure their survival in a digital world. The iPad is the tipping point, a change that has been described as being as profound as the invention of the printing press. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear two library movers and shakers share their ideas on this trend: Christine Mackenzie from Victoria’s Yarra Plenty Regional Library will speak broadly on ‘Libraries After the iPad’, and John Blyberg from Darien Library in Connecticut will focus on ‘Top Technology Trends’.
