In the final event for 2015, join Victoria’s community of Library IT Professionals for an evening of brief (but brilliant) “Lightning Talks” designed to stimulate discussion, reflection and celebration of innovative Library IT practices.

Lightning Talks are electrifying presentations that offer insights into a single topic. They can be 5-15 minutes long, with a focus on IT and innovation.

For Lightning Talks 2015 we have 3 outstanding and innovative (even Presidential, if you think about it) librarians queued to strike; we don’t know what they’ll talk about, but we do know it will be worth hearing:-

Importantly, we also welcome all good talkers to share their current IT passion, stories of innovation, successes and disasters.

How do I participate?

  • Tell us your IT passion and we’ll add you to the bill – we just need your name emailed to vala@vala.org.au. Come prepared to talk with your Library IT peers.
  • Prepare Slides/PowerPoint etc. if you like – these can be brought along on the night (USB please).
  • Just put your hand up on the night:- impromptu talks are also welcome.

A great place to meet and learn from outstanding contributors within the Library IT field, Lightning Talks will conclude with the presentation of the 2015 VALA Student Awards – let us introduce you to the emerging, next generation leading lights in our industry (see Student Award photos on Flickr).

The Lightning Talks will be preceded by Christmas drinks.
