Notice of Meeting

Bringing Frederick Bailey Deeming back to life:
digitising, preserving, and reinterpreting collections to engage with new audiences

Join Daniel Wilksch, the Public Records Office Victoria Manager of Online Projects, for a fun and insightful view on how one organisation has taken key parts of its print collection online and made them more accessible to new audiences. Using examples such as the recently launched website exhibition on Frederick Bailey Deeming, hanged at the Melbourne Gaol in 1892, Daniel will discuss the strategies, processes, and technology Public Records Office Victoria has used to bring one dead man back to life. Daniel will also talk about the role PROV is playing in developing and promoting the Victorian Electronic Records Strategy (VERS).

About Daniel Wilksch
In addition to being the Manager of Online Projects for Public Records Office Victoria, Daniel looks after the PROV local history grants program.

This talk will follow the (brief) business of the Annual General Meeting of the Association.
