Speaker: Jon Peacocke, Program Manager, Learning Environments

Jon's presentation will reflect upon the professional challenges associated with development of innovative learning spaces.

About the speaker:

Jon Peacocke has responsibility for the development of physical and virtual learning environments at the University of Melbourne, in collaboration with academic colleagues. In 2008, Jon was an invited member of the expert panel advising the Vice-Chancellor's Information Futures Commission that developed a ten-year strategy for the University's scholarly information future. He is also a member of the editorial board for the Australia-New Zealand edition of the Horizon Report (2009), a collaborative effort between the New Media Consortium (NMC) and the Educause Learning Initiative (ELI), which charts the landscape of emerging technologies for teaching, learning and creative expression. Jon's professional interests are primarily around exploring how anthropological approaches can inform our understandings of the student experience.
