Does It Really Meta? A panel discussion on the pros and cons of federated searching
Join the panellists to discuss the practical implications, and role, of federated
searching for users of online library services.
About the Panellists
- Dennis Warren is the Law Librarian at La Trobe University.
- Di Clifford began her career at Monash University Library and has worked for the CSIRO
Division of Exploration and Mining in the area of Geographic Information Systems.
Di has worked as a teacher librarian in the Northern Territory as well as Victoria,
and is currently head of library information services at Geelong College.
- Gary Hardy is the Associate Director, Information Support at Swinburne University of
Technology. Gary is well known and respected by the profession through his
various work endeavours at the State Library of Victoria, VICNET, the Monash Centre
for Community Networking Research, Kangan TAFE, and the Department of Information Services
at RMIT.
- Julie Rae is the Chief Executive Officer of the Central Highlands Regional Library
Corporation. Julie is also the President of VICLINK and is deeply involved
in the Library Link project www.llv.net.au
and the Gulliver Consortium.
